BHEL reports standalone net profit of Rs.359.58 crore in Q4FY16 vs net loss of Rs. 1,101.99 crore in Q4FY15: Estimates Mixed

Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL), state-owned power plant equipment manufacturer, reported standalone net profit of Rs.359.58 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2016, registering growth of 59.52% yoy. However, the company had reported net loss of Rs. 1,101.99 crore in the preceding quarter. The company’s standalone revenue stood at Rs. 10,004.77 crore, down 21.5% yoy but up 87.86% qoq.
Its standalone core operating profit of Rs. 363.81 crore, declined by 78.37% yoy. However, the company had reported standalone core operating loss of Rs. 1,638.74 crore in the preceding quarter. Operating profit margin for the current quarter at 3.64%, contracted by 956 bps yoy. However, the company had reported an operating loss in the preceding quarter.
For the year ended March 31, 2016, the company reported standalone net loss of Rs. 913.42crore as compared to net profit of Rs. 1,419.29 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year. Its standalone revenue for the period stood at Rs. 25,628.99 crore, registering decline of 15.25% yoy.
Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd’s core operating loss stood at Rs. 1,958.45 crore as compared to the operating profit of Rs. 2,485.06 crore in the corresponding period of previous year.
Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd ended at Rs. 128.2, down by 0.25 points or 0.19% from its previous closing of Rs. 128.45 on the BSE.
The scrip opened at Rs. 129 and touched a high and low of Rs. 131.95 and Rs. 126.65 respectively. A total of 11850956(NSE+BSE) shares were traded on the counter. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 31439.42 crore.
